I am pleased to announce my new Bariatric Surgery Counseling and Assessment services (BSCA)!

Men and women choosing gastric bypass, LapBand, or gastric sleeve surgery for weight loss are generally required to undergo a psychological assessment before the surgeon approves them as suitable candidates for surgery. As a part of my BSCA services, you will be given an in-depth questionnaire comprised of 36 vital criteria.

The detailed test results and summary will allow me to gauge your level of readiness and success on your path to losing weight and becoming healthy. In addition to this assessment, I will conduct a counseling session to make a behavioral evaluation as well as to analyze and talk about your test results.

Based on your test results and the in-office session, I will either endorse you as a suitable surgery candidate or discuss the issues that I find present that may hinder your progress before, during, and after surgery. In the event that you are not quite ready for this life-change, you will have the option for further counseling.

Throughout these sessions you will address vital road-blocks and learn to manage them so that your weight-loss path is successful. I will work in conjunction with your surgery center and surgeon to help you become a suitable surgery candidate.
